Only members of the U.S. Armed Forces or honorably discharged veterans are eligible to apply for our Freedom Scholarships.

Students who are currently enrolled in any education program or course through the College for Financial Planning®—a Kaplan Company are not eligible to apply. Scholarship applications received from students who are currently enrolled will be automatically withdrawn.

Acknowledgements

I acknowledge that I have reviewed the requirements for applying for and fulfilling a Freedom Scholarship through College for Financial Planning®—a Kaplan Company. I am submitting a completed application as per these requirements.

If awarded a Freedom Scholarship, I acknowledge the following:

  • Within one month of being notified of my scholarship, I must provide an official transcript of my completed bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent transcript evaluation if I earned my bachelor’s degree from an institution outside of the United States (if awarded either a Freedom Scholarship for CFP® certification or Master of Science degree program).
  • I must remain in good academic standing for the entirety of the program and complete the program’s academic requirements within the timeframe described in the following applicable timeframes:
    • CFP® Certification and Exam Prep Review Freedom Scholarship
      • Enroll within 90 days of being awarded the Freedom Scholarship in either the College’s structured pace or self-paced education program, and
      • Complete the education program within two years
    • Designation Program Freedom Scholarship
      • Enroll within 90 days of being awarded the Freedom Scholarship in a designation program, and
      • Complete the program within 120 days after receiving online access
    • Master of Science Degree Program Freedom Scholarship
      • Apply for the Master's program within 90 days of being awarded the Freedom Scholarship, and
      • Complete the program within five years
  • I agree to adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity. Iacknowledge that plagiarism, whether deliberate or unintentional,  is a serious violation of ethical standards in scholarship and that I may be penalized if it is determined I am not the original author of work I have submitted, including the use of AI-generated content such as ChatGPT or other language processing algorithms.
  • Failure to remain in good academic standing will result in a forfeiture of the scholarship and require self-pay should I wish to complete the program.
  • I agree to provide written and video testimonials after completing my education program associated with my Freedom Scholarship for use in future promotional materials.
